Xhekial Regalt is a student of Sjornbal that Ascension Academy meets in the events of the North Mission.
Who is Xhekial Regalt?[]
Xhekial Regalt comes from a small Military Family of Knights that has served the Cross Allied Forces as soldiers and leaders for generations. His ancestor founded the family's personal circle of status, “The Markothian Knights”. They live by an oath to assure that no evil could rise again, that all evil could be stopped, and all could live peacefully under the banners of protection. To obtain the ranked status as such in the family they have to validate important accomplishments and victories. Many cannot succeed in these ventures due to its extreme conditions.
Xhekial had always wanted to follow in the footsteps of his father, a CAF Captain at the Northern Fortress of Clideth. He aims to be a leader among soldiers, to inherit his family's title as a Markothian Knight and to join the CAF to become a high ranking officer. He’s always been involved in a military lifestyle. Through his youth Xhekial was involved in CAF sponsored boot camps. He studied, had a well established lifestyle within the United Sanctuary with his retired mother when he wasn’t in the CAF Northern Territories with his father, and when he became eligible he applied to all of the best Military Academies he could.
Xhekial applied to both GMA and Ascension Academy. He wanted to go there for its resources, its instructors, its excellent history in the foundation of incredible leaders and officers. Even a relative of his has even enrolled and graduated from Ascension Academy. His history proved excellent scores, aptitude, connections, and more, but ultimately was rejected from Ascension Academy for unknown reasons that could not be disclosed to him. He never got a response from GMA. He was discouraged, conflicted, and upset. However, he was accepted to the Sjornbal Mage College. He firmly believes that it was due to his fathers connections, but it is unknown at this time if this is true.

Xhekial learned quickly like a sponge, given his chances, and excelled in abjuration and evocation magic. He became classified as a battle mage. He was voted Vice President for the Sjornbal Student Council for the first year. During his time, he built bonds with many other students. There was a budding relationship between him and Mischa Oiram, who later got together after an awkward first start. Xhekial found rivalries and butted heads with Red, mostly due to his controversial behaviors, with each pushing the other to get better. When it came to spells, Xhekial relied on the help of others. To amplify his durability, Alexander Ithil worked to help him, resulting in Xhekial learning a reinforced mage armor spell.
He was voted as Vice President for the second year, but after the outcome of their first field mission with the orcs, it pushed him over the edge. It was the first wall he hit that made him realize his issues. Xhekial's frustration at being unable to grow magically throughout the first semester of his second year caused sparks of insecurity to build up. He felt that the student deaths were on him because the others stepped out of line, and he couldn’t stop them. The other cadets know of his first outburst, the incident that caused Xhekial’s mage armor to explode due to overheating and put him even further in frustration. As a result, he dons the mistakes of his past via scars. Andrew Eridanus and Xhekial had fought over the position of vice president due to his turmoil, leading to Xhek's loss. From that point forward, Andrew had obtained the position and took his seat as vice president in their third year by a landslide. He remained as part of the disciplinary committee with spite and heated jealousy.
Xhekial had since struggled mentally from his loss, leading to becoming abrasive throughout their third year. He became colder in his words, taking more time to build himself through physical training, and continued to push himself magically. He’s focused more on himself than others, feeling a sense of failure constantly after everything he’s attempted to achieve and falling short of his goals. Now, they head to the Northern Wall and front lines of the war…

Xhek’s body being at a higher temperature proves to be his biggest detriment. As he continues to cast spells and engage in strenuous combat, his body temperature will rise, which is reflected in his spells' heat. In most cases, Xhek dunks himself in large bodies of snow, water, or he'll have Tavian spray him down. As his body begins to emit his inner mana slowly, it ignites and sets the area around him ablaze. If this persists for an abnormal amount of time, his body may be prone to damage. In dire situations, like an overfilled balloon, Xhek may force the heat out all at once through self-combustion, immediately dropping his body to a lower temperature but paralyzing him due to shock. |
