Who is William Artigas?[]
William Artigas is a young but tired man, currently employed as Mayor Aima Yinnow's Secretary and Scribe. He is kept busy managing many of Cari Town's affairs and keeping the Mayor out of trouble. He moved to the region in the summer of 2120 to get away from everything following the death of his girlfriend, Yasmin Sallent. However he was very disappointed to find the region was not the idyllic calm and quiet forest village he had hoped.
William has a difficult time passing on responsibility, and often overburdens himself trying to help others. He is also mildly skilled with a sword, enough to hold his own at least, but he is far from a professional.
History[]
William moved to Cari Town back when it was still just a camp with a small cluster of buildings. He was introduced to the Cadets of Ascension Academy this way, and despite the hectic nature of things he slowly became acclimated to the village. He had hoped to live a quiet life free of responsibilities out here, but this plan quickly collapsed. Between the chaos of the Ymra Crisis that was unfolding around him, and the sudden big brother role he was filling for Tanya- as her mother Joyce he discovered was more often than not drunk- his plans for a quiet life crumbled rapidly.
When the Ymra Crisis came to a head, William was one of a handful of volunteers on the walls of the village trying to hold off the Blight Siege while the majority of the Ascension Academy Cadets battled their way through the Ymra Tree many miles away. During this battle he was clipped by a sap spike that narrowly missed taking his right eye, and he still bears the scar to this day.
In the months following the Ymra Crisis, William found himself taking on more and more duties as his past as both a guard and accountant meant he had the organization and math knowledge needed for such a task. When the old CAF appointed mayor left the village, and Mayor Aima Yinnow was appointed, William was raised formally to be the Mayor's Secretary and was put in charge of even more matters. The stress of all of this, on top of overseeing the Cari Town renovations, has worn William down steadily. He grows paler, and the bags under his eyes deepen.
The chaos that unfolded on the first day after the Town opened did not help his health by any means. Despite the fact that he narrowly avoided infection by the corrupted rats several times, the added stress and exhaustion from dealing with the incident late into the night has greatly worsened his health.

- William has worked as an accountant, guard, and stableman in the last 6 years.
- William served as a guardsman in Umbest for a time before he moved to Cari Town.
- His Affinity is Earth, and he technically has the capacity for magic- as he found out when testing a mana rifle in the Blight Siege- but he has no understanding or training with magic.
