The Story So Far…
"It's the 1920's. A broadcast over the radio speaks about an upcoming storm in the area, so people prepare. As the night draws in a detective agency sits at their desks pondering about their cases. Suddenly, a portal opens and begins to pull in the detectives & the agency into the metaverse. Suddenly, the streets are replaced with strange buildings, sights, and creatures & the world they knew has changed.
Due to the portal needing to understand some of the technology etc from the time, it pulls them into the world, but with no colour. All their clothes, their building etc are black and white. Seems the old stereotype of "Did they see in black and white back then?" has become a real thing... For them at least. Meanwhile, as they begin to delve into the madness they have been pulled into, a well-known organised crime group from the same period has also been brought into the mix. Was this fate or is this just plain madness, I guess that's for you to decide."
FOUNDATION[]
The idea of The Monochrome Agency, was created by WickedFlyGirl. She decided on a new innovative role play that allows members to not only RP as if they were back in the 1920's but also in monochrome. This means that the clothes, agency building etc, is all in black and white, which creates a unique experience for VRChat role players.
When the staff agreed to the idea, it began to develop and blossom into its full potential. All members of staff were involved with helping the initial creation of teams, documents, ranks and much more. Here are the members who contributed:-

ROLES & STRUCTURE[]
Chief Detective[]
The official position of the Chief Detective carries with it formal authority that gives rise to three important interpersonal roles as Figurehead, Leader and Liaison. They work with their Deputy Chief Detective on leading the staff & members of the community, whilst also dealing with the most serious of issues should they arise.
Deputy Chief Detective[]
The Deputy Chief Detective supports the Chief Detective in leading the staff team & community. They deal with the upmost serious and sensitive/confidential incidents, and will be there if a staff member steps out of line. The Deputy Chief Detective's duties mimic The Chief Detective, and so the two roles are extremely alike, however, it is the main chief who has the final say in matters, should it be required.
Captain[]
The rank of Captain is given to those who have been in the staff team for some time and have shown not only dedication to being a staff member but also to the community they help lead. Captains act as supervisors, as they oversee the Lieutenants and assist them if they require, as well as help and guide them. They are also a beacon of the community who members can look up to and come to anytime. The Captains, also have a good amount of say in some tougher decisions, and will often be asked for their opinions on things by Chief Detectives.
Lieutenant[]
A Lieutenant is a newer established member of the staff team, who has proven that they have what it takes to be a full-time staff member. They have completed training and their trial period, and now oversee the community alongside the other members of the staff team, making decisions, bringing in ideas, and helping to deal with issues, community collaborations & the development of the community.
Chief Advisor[]
An advisor position for former Chief/Deputy, when they step down to another staff rank or retire, to help the current leadership. This is only given to those who prove to be worthy, as this role is limited to one or two members at a time.
Advisor[]
An advisor role is given to those who have retired from staff temporarily, or who help advise the department's staff team.
Staff Detective[]
This rank is given to those who prove worthy, as a trial for the staff team. After a month probation where they will receive training and guidance from the rest of the staff team, they will either move up to Lieutenant, or back down to the rank of Senior Detective. In their training, they will learn how to handle situations, moderation duties & leadership skills, as well as many other qualities to prepare them for becoming a full-time staff member.
Snr. Detective[]
The Senior Detectives of the department, help keep all in order, by helping the lower ranks of the department learn new skills, patrol and are the staple of what we're looking for in our ranks. Snr Detectives are the bridge that supports the staff team by making reports, and by being the eyes of staff when they're not around within the dept.
Special Detective[]
A special Detective is an experienced and respected member of the department. They have learned what they have led investigations, undercover patrols, etc, and understand the ins and outs of the agency.
Detective[]
A Detective is a proven member of the department, who has shown that they're enthusiastic and that they're ready to show us what they have.
Jr. Detective[]
Junior Detective, generally perform routine duties, assisting and supporting police officers, gathering intelligence, carrying out security patrols, and, through their presence alone, reassuring the public. Where possible, they also attend to matters not requiring police powers.
Rookie[]
Rookies are new members of the department, who have recently completed their training and first steps on becoming a fully-fledged Detective.
Cadet[]
Brand new members, ready to be trained into a rookie.

Bio: Lady Mono was a supernatural fox who came from a long line of detectives in Japan. Her family being kitsune carried the ability to shapeshift and took on the guise as humans to solve cases, especially ones that involve the paranormal. Being exposed to many ghosts, spirits, and yōkai drove Lady into wanting to become more human. So she traveled to NYC in hopes of starting a new life.
