The Devouring is a horror map on VRChat. You spawn outside of a gas station with a car waiting for you, you and your friends get in the car, you turn the car on to start the game. You and your friends are driving down the road listening to the radio. Soon the radio gets all static and just ahead of you, you see a figure in the road, it runs into you and you crash, turning the car to the side and you and your friends knock out.
You and your friends wake up in a manor. Youre in a bedroom thats connected to the dining hall. Upon waking up, you see an journal that has missing pages, so you venture out and start to explore the manor, unknowingly youre being hunted by three creatures; one in the sewers, one on the main floor, and one on the top floor. if the creatures catch you, you "die".
In the game you are to survive by finding the four gemstones that unlocks the front door. you get the first gemstone by finishing the piano puzzle. Once all four gemstones are found and placed in the door, the door opens and you make your way to the kitchen, where you need to set the kitchen on fire beating the monster. Once you ruin the kitchen, you make your escape and you win the game. The game is three hours long but if you want to finish the map 100%, it can take up to 5 or 6 hours to complete because you have to find all the journal pages, and the four trophies.
There are a lot of puzzles for this amazing map, including but not limited to timed puzzles.
