Tang, as he is locally known, is a Warforged. Constructed of sturdy metals and work hardy material he is made to be a worker. He is able to carry out normal conversation and enjoys assisting the people of Ledford after he had travelled there some years ago to work for the mining foreman.
Backstory[]
A Warforged of the First Era, lost to time for some years, the last thing Tang is able to remember in their life is being brought to working conditions in the kingdom of Arilaand by an old tinkerer known as Amaeus. The things that they are able to remember in detail about their ‘creation’ as it were was that they were built to serve a purpose. The one given to them by their re-creator as it were, is to be an assistant and ore collector, which they faithfully served as for many years until their new owner was stricken ill. Their new master unable to work on their own anymore, Tang worked twice as hard in order to keep them as lively as they could be, until one day they were taken to their bedside and given a new purpose. To not just stay by their side and keep them alive, but to help the other townsfolk, to better their lives as they were able to extend theirs.
Using what strength they were able to muster for themselves, they reforged the tools they used every day since they were brought back into their body. As well as a few extra ones to make their job easier, faster. As Tang gathered themselves and their new tools, and was about to begin their new journey, their master would hand them a small brand, a craftsman’s mark so that they would be able to continue their work long after they were gone. Tang would later join this brand into their hand itself. Making the trademark symbol of their craftwork, if any, being their master’s brand surrounded by a handprint for wherever they grasped the object they worked on.
Attributes[]
- Major - Mining Chassis: Tang is made out of extremely heat-resistant and durable materials. Given even greater strength than normal as to crush rocks and extract ore. Additionally, their arms are equipped with force pistons in order to easily hammer through shale and rock faced walls in a flash, and heating elements (short range high-power heater) to soften stone and dirt to make it even easier to mine away. (tldr: Heat resistant body, Heating Elements in their hand to soften stone, slow but powerful piston forearm for mining like a jackhammer but slower.)
- Minor - Warforged Physiology: Due to being a warforged, toxins and organic poisons do not affect Tang the way they would a human. Harmful effects delivered by magical means are still able to affect them however.
- Minor - Tools of the Trade: Tang has the tools required for his profession permanently attached to their person. They are able to be removed using special tools or just by breaking them off. However they are attached to their person. (These are: Steel Pike (Pick), Lantern (Hooded), and Climbing Spikes)
Detriments[]
- Major - Warforged Physiology: Due to being a warforged, they cannot be healed by normal means. Any damage done to them is more or less permanent unless healed by a specialist with specific tools for intense damage. Or by smithing/mending any broken parts for a quick fix. Too much sustained damage, or their mana source running out will cause them to cease functioning.
- Minor - Longer Recharge: After utilizing any of their specialized tools, (lantern, heating hands, piston mining) Tang must during the same day take a longer “standby” phase to recharge and regain his mana supply. If they do not do this they cannot use their tools again until this is done without risk to their wellbeing.
- Minor - Light Sensitive: Re-purposed for low-light conditions, they cannot see awfully well in bright sunlight or bright areas. Anything farther than a few meters from them becomes hard to make out besides a general shape or form in this lighting.
