Reximus Evershine is a student at Ascension Academy with short, teal hair in a very messy style. He speaks with a odd voice due to a violent altercation with one of his tutors at a young age.

Lore[]
Rex was a previous student who attended the Academy four years prior to the new batch of students, having been forced to leave to take care of his family's vineyard. By the time he was ready to come back Ascension had already replaced him.
Rex had been trained in combat by various tutors at a young age, one of which struck him with a shovel causing his voice to change. Rex' hair is naturally a very pale blonde, but it is changed to a teal because of how much Evershine Wine he drinks. When he slows his consumption, his hair color noticeably fades.
It also seems that Rex is a weapon collector and will take many weapons home to store in his room, which also is the place he summons his weapons from.
History[]
Childhood[]
Rex was trained in the art of combat from a young age with various tutors employed by his parents to tech him, though because of his attitude toward one of said tutors they retaliated violently, taking a shovel and hitting the young Rex over the head with it causing some sort of brain damage that gave him the speech impediment you hear today. Alpha did not take kindly to this and executed the tutor also making Rex watch, why they did this has not been yet revealed.
Through one of his tutors he met a girl by the name of Samantha Raynes who would become his girlfriend in the future, they became friends and soo did almost everything together, loving every second of it. From running through meadows hand in hand to training in swordsmanship under the watchful eye of Mr Raynes, who would pick at their forms or technique.
Previous Attendance[]
Four years prior to the current batch of students, Rex attended the Academy for a year and a half before leaving to defend his family Vineyard from a threat but was unable to return to the Academy in time and was replaced. He was placed in Ignis alongside Ekemon Opis a Bargheist Tiefling who was the Squad Captain, Sheldon Wilson a Were-Boar who took the Co-Captain role, Samantha Raynes a human who was also Rex's Girlfriend, Britannia Fellus another human and Suzie Q an Elf.
Love Lost[]
Rex's life was never the same after Samantha Raynes had supposedly perished in a mission in Aldoria at the hands of the Blackguard. His plans of proposing to her after the mission were dashed, what went from simply guarding some Unicorns quickly turned into a life or death battle against the Blackguard. Just as they had forced them to retreat, Samantha was impaled through the heart by a Black Unicorn and dragged into a portal made by the unicorns. Too slow to save at least her body, she disappeared. In his despair, he left the Academy under the guise that his vineyard needed to be protected, which was in fact true. It didn't take long for his service to no longer be needed for protection, he still was not ready to go back. Instead he travelled Aldoria for 3 years, looking for even a trace of her. Finding none, he returned home. To take his mind off of Samantha and his failures, he filled his time off with countless one night stands and nights of passion with all willing that passed his way. During these days he heard that Ascension Academy was looking for more students to occupy its 65th batch of students, and although he was too late to rejoin his old squad, he was placed into General Squad.
Arrival at Ascension[]
Rex arrived at the Academy a day early during Glamour Day which also confused him the following day since nobody looked the same.
Missions[]
During the Esperia mission it seemed that Rex was quite the smooth talker as he had shared a night of passion with a traveler passing through the city named Adelaide, also becoming the first student in to have had sex. He appeared the next morning with hickeys numbering his neck and face while also having nail marks down his back that were healed by Speca at a later time that day.
The Misfits[]
After Rex decides to pick some Pisces plants he recruits Shizu to tag along with him as he needs at least one friend to go with him. They head toward the stadium to see if they could induct anyone else into the party. Following a small conversation with others about their plan, Shizu inhaling Miss Bliss and a passionate speech about breasts, Rex and Shizu enlist Misty into their ranks before setting off for the Cave. The group drink their water breathing potions while Rex places a semi permanent Water Wall around Misty so she doesn't get wet and die they head into the cave to pick some plants. Shortly after picking a boat load of Pisces plants and Shizu becoming the Rope Master they are quickly shooed out of the cave by a giant leviathan like creature. On their way back to the academy they find a small secluded area which they thought would be a perfect place to put a clubhouse. In the night Rex and Misty wake up Shizu to go build their clubhouse, this was the Beginning of The Misfits Club.
Rekindled Flame[]
During the second year a new group of students had arrived with one being late, the day after she had arrived: Misty Flame. Delegating the task of touring Misty to Rex, he showed her around the campus. Unfortunately she immediately took to disliking him, but as time passed she slowly grew attached to him. As he began spending more time with Misty, Rex started to feel something he hadn't felt since his previous time in the Academy. It kept building up until finally he let it all loose while talking to her at the lighthouse, kissing her and rekindling a flame he thought he had lost.
The Resolution[]
The Unknown fate of Samantha Raynes still weighed on Rex's mind, even with his new lover Misty at his side. A question that would go unanswered until the day a mission in Aldoria showed its face. Comissioned by the Kingsguard to combat the growing Blackguard activity in the area, the academy was called in for support. Rex was on high alert immediately, preparing in any way he could to make sure that history would not repeat itself. His mood and emotions only worsening as time went on, with his girlfriend feeding off of them. Squads were picked out to clear ruins, escort people or travel to certain places over the duration of the mission. Rex was constantly vigilant, patrolling and killing imps that showed themselves near the camp. Even showing back up to the camp covered in demon and monster blood. With Misty briefly being controlled by the blackguard, Rex's mental state continuously got worse. Only when the final battle against the Blackguard began with the Academy fighting the Blackguard further back into their own base did all of his fears and frustrations come to an end. In the chamber which Hannah was kept captured did he find her. The long decayed body of Samantha Raynes, showing that she truly did die almost immediately after being impaled by the Black Unicorn, Rex's fears of her being tortured with him being too useless to save her were just gone. He took her body back to Ascension for her family to pick up and give her a proper funeral. Rex's remaining squadmates came to finally pay their respects, Rex was given Samantha's bracers so that she may protect him once more even after her life had come to an end. His fears and questions finally answered, he was finally ready to move forward to a new future with Misty at his side. Never again would he let a friend fall, at least not without a fight.

Rex seems to have quite the heroic outlook on life with him wanting to save people and just make sure that people live their lives without having to fear the monsters that lurk. He gave a very heartwarming speech to Lila when she asked him how to be stronger, telling her that If she can't believe in herself then she's beating herself before the enemy has a chance to.
Although the Headmaster may not like Rex he seems to trust him with matters in his grove such as holding down a Necromental that he wished to planar bind whilst he spoke with Speca and Vevina.
Rex can also shove at least 3 bagels down his throat in under 10 seconds.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Combat Training - Thanks to his constant tutors teaching him in different aspects of combat Rex has become a jack of all trades when it comes to weapons, using a vast variety of weapons to battle with.
- Array of Weapons - Because he cannot summon weapons while in different planes of existence Rex carries a different types of weapons on his back to even out equipment spread to gain edges in different types of battle.
- Water Gun - An incomplete version of the actual spell Water Bolt, instead of shooting pressurized water it lets out a harmless stream of water becoming a glorified super soaker.
- Water Tendril - Thanks to a battle in the Duat Desert against the Giant Worms Rex had lost most of the muscle on his right arm, to the point of seeing bone. To remedy this he conjures a water tendril to help his arm achieve its normal strength in battle, at the cost of draining his mana pool faster.
- Water Shield - After his metal shield was destroyed in the battle against the Blackguard, Rex was forced to come up with another way to protect himself and his friends. By modeling a waterwall into the shape of a handheld shield, he had found one. But at the cost of further draining his mana.
- Water Surfing - Due to the fact his Water tendril and Water shield drains his mana like never before during battle, Rex needed a way to further increase his mana pool as simply using his Magic Wards 24/7 was no longer cutting it. By shaping a surf board out of water and also propelling himself with water he is able to glide across water. This also trains his mana pool to become bigger so that simply defending himself in battle doesn't drain all of his mana before he could hope to fight back.

- Rex's affinities are Water and Lighting.
- The IRL equivalent of Evershine Wine according to Kareeda is a 'Smirnoff Ice, Red, White, and Berry'.
- Rex's power set is roughly based on the 'Eldritch Knight' class in Dungeons and Dragons, though that name is not used and it is modified a fair bit.
- Rex has some pretty large pockets, being able to store all sorts of potions, a bag of ice and even Evershine.
- Due to a dumb Excalibur joke Rex made about Javier's "Sword" during the Halloween crossover of Ascension and Camp Cari, Salty (the best mod) realized that Rex's own "Sword" would be Caliburn.
