Professor Willow is a teacher at the Ascension Academy and the previous head of the Ardent Veil squad. He has a calm attitude but isn't afraid of punishing students with his rose bush if he needs to.
Lore[]
Willow as a druid has a deep connection to the creatures of nature that inhabit Ascension Academy. He considers them his children and when not working as a teacher is often tending to the creatures.
He used to have a fragile and weak human daughter that he took care of. He would create and engrave certain medallions to help her leave home without getting hurt. If she got hurt, she would bleed quite a lot. Medicine and magic could only prolong her sickness and couldn't make her healthy.
Despite this, she was always happy, smiling, and had no regrets. It was because of his daughter that Professor Willow decided to become a teacher.
History[]
The squad of Chipz, Rook and Esmae overheard him together with Professor Vondanen and in a crystal cavern looking for a way to possibly attempt to open an ancient door there. Unbeknownst to them at the time Headmaster Kareeda was also present in the form of a tree. [1]
Professor Willow has shown on multiple occasions to be able to talk to plant life. He does this often whenever Chipz asks him about the giant tree, among other ones. Headmaster Kareeda has told others that his powers can also range to animals as well.
Powers[]
- Rune Crafting - Willow can make runes that have a variety of effects. Some runes that he has stated as using are a rune of banishment, that banishes someone from a place to somewhere unknown and a rune of silencing that silences a person for 30 minutes.
- One with Nature - Through druidism Willow is in touch with nature itself giving a variety of abilities such as the ability of seeing through birds.
Trivia[]
- As a Dryad he shares some natural abilities similar to Headmaster Kareeda who is a druid.
- Willow being an old tree with a bad memory has given all the students nicknames to remember them easier. Some examples are calling Cari Cuddlefish Catfish, Augusta Anders Eggplant, and Victor Von Doom.
- He has made the decision to change Victor's nickname to "Sea Salt"
- Professor Willow's hair color changes depending on the current season to match it
- He is afraid of cupcakes and muffins due to an incident where an illusion was placed on them to turn into gremlins every time he tried to bite into one.
- Upon visiting his estranged wife he claimed to have killed 12 of her concubines'. His daughter later criticized him for killing 6 concubines. It is unclear if this is a retcon of the number or if only 6 of them were drow.
- Following Spirit Week's conclusion in Year 2, Professor Willow resigned his position as Head of Ardent Veil Squad. That spirit week had been a particularly active and disturbed one, with a delayed Day of the Dark and higher than usual spirit activity. As such, he decided it was best if he left the Academy to spread wild magics through the ley lines, hoping to help the world at large and settle whatever had disturbed them.
