Albrecht Xel Brunswick is a teacher at Ascension Academy who joined the school at the start of the second year. Due to his abilities rumors often stir of him abusing his powers to spy on students or sneak into the dorms, but his fatherly and protective nature mean these rumors never rise above a quiet whisper. He has proven repeatedly through private and public action that he values the safety of his students above all else, something many of the students find refreshing.
History and Biography
Foreword: Much of Albrecht's past is known only to a small handful of characters, less than five, and even then divided unevenly amongst them. Because of this, and the general secrecy of the character, large portions of information is intentionally being left off this page for the time being. Please refrain from adding to this section.
Professor Albrecht has a storied past, most of which is unknown to any but himself and a very small handful of students and staff. Long ago he lived in Aldoria, and had an elven wife and daughter. They had a home there, and Albrecht was taught to use a sword by an elf there. His daughter loved to paint, before she and her mother both caught Elderbloom, a wasting sickness that plagues the elves. Albrecht traveled the world seeking a cure, but none was to be found, and by the time he returned to his family they had already passed.
After this, there is a gap in the Professor's history, but prior to joining the Academy as a teacher, Albrecht had a long-lasting relation with Professor Von, who was originally tasked to kill Albrecht. Eventually the contract expired after the man who placed the hit died of old age, and the two ceased hostilities.
Academy Relations
Albrecht is in good standings with a number of the students of Ascension unlike some of the other professors. The most noteworthy examples of this are Rin, Vevina, and Chipz. Rin reminds Albrecht of his late daughter a great deal and early on he became protective of her, trying to help as best he could as she struggled with the loss of Naitya. In a drunken daze Rin even referred to Albrecht as 'dad' before passing out.
He even managed to earn the respect of Melanie, a typically rather disrespectful and volatile student, after helping her and proving he cared repeatedly in her struggles with Joseph. Mel's struggles against her nature, and the dark deity within her, boiled over repeatedly- even driving Joseph legitimately insane for a period. Albrecht was able to aid them both, and after Joseph intentionally failed the Placements Exam he took the boy under his wing as well and began teaching him to use the shortsword.
Albrecht is notably currently the only professor that Chipz has declared he respects. Given Chipz' general distrust and total lack of faith in the teachers at Ascension, this is noteworthy. Chipz sought Albrecht out for words of wisdom after a mission in the sewers of Abagua lead him to assisting in killing an Inquisitor , something that upset Chipz greatly. Since then Chipz and Albrecht have had several long discussions, many regarding Chipz' issues as a vampire with blood thirst and how to tackle those, as well as a more personal one where Chipz managed to convince Albrecht to open up to Irinaria once more, during which Albrecht opened up to the boy about his past and how his family died. The latter cemented the truth of Rin's claims to Albrecht as more than a joke- that Rin and Chipz consider each other to truly be siblings regardless of blood.

- Albrecht quickly earned the nickname 'Dadbrecht' in the various Stream Chats of other Roleplayers due to his general demeanor and fatherly relationship with Rin.
- Professor Albrecht resides in the city of Concordia , which is the nearest city to the Academy.
- Albrecht, along with Professor Barnes and Professor Carver , is investigating the Faith of Ymra and their establishment within Concordia following the Siege of Concordia, which raised suspicions in the teachers.
- Albrecht was trained to use the sword by the Swordmaster of Caslaur, Faelinthaal. An elf and member of the Aldorian Royal Guard.
- In his office at the Academy, he has two photos. One photo of him, his wife, and his infant daughter and the other is of his wife and daughter grown older.
- Albrecht still wears the ring his wife gave to him.
