Going in search of a drink with Maxie the bar is closed as usual but outside the bar Jeremy is present and offers them something to dine. He's looking for streamers, something to hang up to celebrate events. Any kind of them really, anything to replace the toilet paper that he's been using. He tells of someone who previously attempted to stab Speedracer in the face with a skewer. Rough times at the restaurant. Buying drinks for Maxie Sten learns that he's very sensitive towards alcohol. At the restaurant Juno asks to have a Shometsu gun cleaned and Sten obliges. She's also selling syringes offering them at a discount for locals. Sten purchases one but insists on paying double. Jeremy is interested in purchasing some vulcanium and gets warned of the dangers, them being explosive and radioactive. As long as he doesn't hit it with a hammer och sleep next to it he should be fine. Having just one hand he's considering potentially getting a vibroblade or vibrodagger.

Ima warns of Hendersson meeting with the bandit lords and informs the town to prepare in case he comes back with an unwelcome entourage. Lacking enough armed guards currently Sten and Maxie join him at the gates. As if clockwork an unknown wastelander approaches the gate with an upsetting message. Clearing her of any weapons she warns of an army of synthetics destroying everything in their path, including a large spiderlike one. They attacked her settlement killing or sending everyone running in different directions. She seems exhausted so Sten offers her some water.

Herk reports from the councilman Hadwyn to keep all non-combatants away from the gate, and move them somewhere safe. Preparing Sten gathers spare guns and ammunition and brings it in a create to the gate. Another synth uprising? This brings back memories from last year, when a lot of friends were lost. On the way Sten runs into some civilians and warns them on the situation. Returning after gathering supplies Hadwyn is manning the gate himself with Herk, Skully, Charles and the wastelander. He tells Sten to find Prowler, if his explosives may help them.

At the shop a stranger named Kai enters picking up a wild lizard. Sten tells them that the lizard isn't his so if they wish to keep it they're fine to bring it with them. They're unsure if they're allowed to keep pets however and lets the lizard loose. Lacking a good rifle, Sten makes a rush job of completing a sniper rifle for Maxie to ensure he can hit enemies at a distance.

Season 3: Neon Divide

Episode 14.5 (part2): Unknown Threat

In's and outs

A girl on a hoverboard and her orb drone visit the smithy asking about the inventory and a grenade they left with Mr Prowler. Short on scrap, Sten tells them he's always buying if they find materials. Not able to make them a flamethrower they purchase some goods.

Maxie comes into the shop looking dizzy. He tells that he feels like a whole week wooshed by and Sten asks him if he ate something funny or ingested any of Torok's "powders" he carries around. He begins working on Herks helmet, which design is more complicated than originally thought.

After chasing out some bugs that flew into the shop, Ty asks to have a corporate weapon cleaned. One of the Shometsu pistols that Charles recovered no doubt. She insists on paying for it though it's a thing Sten gladly does for free as long as it helps keep the locals safe. Councilman Hendersson tells Sten he's resuming repairs on the gate and requires his assistance. After he leaves Ty tells that the new rules imposed by the council are causing problems for her, she needs to eat fresh food from outside and can't wait for everyone else, nor does she want to risk their safety. Sten still suggests that she try and join in the scrapping expeditions with Fee-Bee and Willie, if the council cant make an exception for her uh, special dietary needs.

Bringing along a propane tank and welding rods to the gate Sten resumes construction on reinforcements and extension of a guard tower. Bringing plates up one after another, bolting some and welding others depending on their sturdiness and shape. It's a all a patchwork job regardless so nothing fits perfectly in place. They all have to make due. Carrying a lot of mass it should be enough to resist gunshots or any raiders in vehicles attempting to ram them again. Together with Henderson they do good work though Sten has to dodge some of his hammering. Carrying a concrete slab with armaments the huge man uses it like a sledgehammer.

Resuming work on the watchtower alone, careful not to fall down there are ominous sounds in the distance. Maxie jumps up to Sten with his cybernetic legs with ease offering a hand. None of them recognize the strange sound, could it be warning horns blown by raiders? Completing the job Mercury and Peaches are on guard, having seen 3 separate hunting parties leave town they suspect it might be "the maw" making those sounds. Mercury got pretty banged up the other day but has all systems green. His chassis is of Shometsu, making it difficult to find replacement parts for. He tells Sten that he has a supplier in the Row which is good to know.

Ima gathers interested for a scrapping run. He tells that Hendersson did give Ty special permission to go out. Learning about that Herk is not happy and considers her dietary needs the cause for much trouble. Volunteering in Ima's planned scrap run Sten cleans up after the work. Prowler is back and his shop is still there, so no failure in his explosions experiment. No restock on grenades yet Sten brings along his waterskin for the trip. On the way out the hunting party with Bub and returns, dragging a huge white sandworm with milky blue eyes behind their truck. Looks like they were successful. From Imas amazement its a very rare specimen.

Heading out with Ima and Maxie they have a successful run by the overlook and the oasis and gathering scrap and salvage. On their way back a giant crab chases after them but thanks to the speed of the vehicle and they outrun it. Back home Ron is a strange one to greet them and open the gate to let them in. Asking if Gus gave him access he gives a cryptic response. Sten tells Ima that it might be a good idea to change the code just in case. Counting their haul they got scrap, tech parts and some unknown cybernetic. Since they seem to be selling well Sten completes another harpoon gun.

Gus and Elliot report back from their hunting trip and restock on ammunition and pickup the completed armor. The wildlife damaged their vehicle but they killed and brought back a big "alpha sandworm". Unfortunately Captain Ahab did not make it. The old man found his vendetta and dove into the worms maw while grasping explosives, ending both the worm and himself when it went off. Not a story with a happy ending but it seemed strangely fitting. They also encountered some raiders that they managed to avoid.
