The forgotten realm, the cursed land. Moro-Gorath was an ancient civilization of an unknown people. Little to nothing was left of it to show what kind of people resided there, or how life was. It is also unclear how such a thing came to an end. All that remains of this desolate ruin is blackened stone, and charred, petrified remains.

History[]

There is no history recorded about this place, as all that is remembered is even in the First Era, it was nothing more than the ruin it is now. There are few far ranging adventurers and explorers that search the ruins for magical artifacts, but very rare are the times they ever make it back to their starting points. Those who do return with tales of expeditions being butchered, dark voices and whisperings, spirits, and things of the sort.

There is much mystery and unknown regarding this ancient dark land. Within Moro-Gorath are many ruined castles and cities, few of which have been explored. There are many ruins of blacked stone, petrified corpses, and things that creep and crawl within the depths, just out of sight. All the while a silent volcano stands vigil over its capital, silent as death itself.

The land is just too dangerous, and the creatures of the dark that inhabit it are quick to kill. If one was to sneak into this province, they best be aware that it could very well become their grave. The only ones who seem to have a hint as to what happened here so long ago are the elves of Eshma Thalas, or rather, the elven king. What he may or may not know, is unknown. But whatever it is, it has not been spoken of or uttered in a lifetime. Perhaps...some secrets are left buried in the past.

Geography[]

In the center of Moro-Gorath is a volcano, old and dormant. It rarely seems active, and no smoke has come from it in all the remembered and recorded Eras. Forests of charred and preserved trees stand as silent guardians, along with many ravines that disappear into darkness, and cracks in the very earth that look like gaping wounds. The rains burn, as if it is poison itself, and there are no animals to speak of.

Truly, this Dark Land is full of hate towards all things living, and exudes nothing but malcontent to all that may dare to step foot in it with intent to leave with their lives.

Discoveries[]

There are many relics and artifacts to be had here, if one could find them, and safely bring them back to Gradia to be evaluated and identified. Power of a dark sort seems to radiate from the center of this destruction, but none have ever managed to get to its center or even get close enough to guess as to what it is.

The ruins swarm with fell things, and beasts from the dark. What attracts them here, or why, is unknown. But none can deny there is an odd draw here. Some returning adventurers have even reported seeing swarms of Orcs leaving Agmurdrod and heading directly into this cursed land.
