Mischa's mother was a drow slave of a wealthy family. A human man saw the abuse that her mother was going through, bought her from the family, and the two eventually married. Soon after Mischa's birth, her mother was killed by her family who found out that she was pregnant with a human's baby. Mischa survived, protected by her mother.
Mischa grew up as the only drow and magic user in her family. Her father sent her off to Sjornbal because he finally realized that he could not be what Mischa needed. Now, Mischa stays in the academy to learn how to protect people like her mother did.
