Origin[]
Mika was sold on the black market to infamous pirate William "The Wall" Vossler, who was tricked into believing she was a state-of-the-art TraVerse navigational android. After some intense investigation, Vossler found out she is actually a GEB maid. Mika was given several aftermarket modifications, both before and after being purchased by Vossler; most notably, Vossler had a Shometsu personality inhibitor installed in Mika.
Captain Vossler attempted a smuggling operation past the TraVerse navy, and was forced to scuttle his flagship, The Death Flag, in order to escape. Mika obediently followed his orders, during the battle and after. Vossler decided to lay low in The Undercity, where he purchased a local tavern and named it after his lost flagship. While in The Undercity, he became reacquainted with one of his estranged children, Cap'n Angelina Greasepalms.
History[]
At the start of Season 2, Mika lived with Vossler and Greasepalms at The Death Flag Tavern in The Undercity. Vossler had a very short temper, and no knack for machines or computers. Thanks to the Shometsu personality inhibitor, Mika would follow Vossler's orders to the letter, often far more precisely than he'd intended. Vossler would verbally berate Mika any time she missed his nuance, and after realizing Greasepalms was skilled enough to perform basic mechanical repairs, physically abused Mika as well.
Throughout her time in the Undercity, Mika joined Vossler and Greasepalms on adventures and missions, and played a significant part in the "Synth Uprising" orchestrated by Titan, as well as the discovery of "Eden."
Not long after first meeting Mika, BR-16 was able to determine that Mika was awakened, but unable to respond like an awakened synth, and took an interest in her. After trying different approaches, employing the help of Vee, Duncyn, and others, and eventually negotiating with and befriending Vossler and Greasepalms, the pirates finally agreed and had Mika's personality inhibitor disabled and removed, and the operation was performed in The Death Flag Tavern.
Mika, having suffered from locked-in syndrome for so long, watching herself obey Vossler's every command with no way to even voice her dissent, she was utterly terrified of him. Additionally, the extensive abuse and modification to her chassis left her ghost damaged and weak. Mika ran and cowered in corners for a few minutes, unable to speak. Within only a few minutes of the device's removal, The Death Flag Tavern exploded, turning Mika into little more than a pile of scrap — but her core was intact.
Mika's parts were taken by Shometsu, who were investigating the explosion due to their own personnel having been caught in the blast. Mika's parts were intentionally misplaced during the investigation so that Kraver Carabass could have more time to search Mika's memories to find evidence against fellow Shometsu executive, Ikaruga Mitsuyami. When the investigation was over, Mika's parts were repurposed into a new chassis, and Mika was sold to GEB to work in their headquarters in Uppercity.
BR-16 spent several months searching for Mika, and with help from Jonathan, she eventually found Mika in Season 3.5. BR-16 was able to negotiate the purchase of Mika from GEB executives 53R-4H and Elpizo Feall.
Living with BR-16, Mika worked at The Second Hand cybernetics shop in Row 32, rarely leaving BR-16's side. After 9 months, at the start of Season 4, Xia and BR-16 sold the shop. BR-16 donned a "skinsuit" and a mask, and took on the alias Astra Nova - a cybernetically augmented human woman, who could now be legally registered as Mika's administrator.
Mika now lives with Astra Nova (BR-16) in Union Heights, and works with her as an assistant cybersecurity specialist.

Edges[]
- Hydraulic Claw - Mika's right hand has been replaced with a hydraulic claw, providing a high degree of grip and crushing strength but a reduced capacity to fulfill her original service design. While it's been stated that this was done to allow her to better assist with space travel, it was more likely done out of amusement; to watch Mika struggle to complete her assigned tasks.
