Memoirs of the Roach Incursion is a document detailing lore about the Roach Empire and the Roach Nation written by Capo1. The following is a transcript of the original document.
A DETAILED REPORT ON ALL THINGS ROACH[]

SUSPICIOUS ACTIONS AND INQUIRIES[]
A report on the Galactic affairs concerning Roach Remnants and the lack of Counselor action against them.
Report #1: Field Report on Roach Technological Advancements/ Advisory to the council
Excerpts from Colonel Hastings, 414th Peacekeeping Force:
Councilman Tarlos, it is of great importance that you make a motion to the council to enable peacekeeping forces more competent weaponry, almost all Federation corvettes don't stand a chance against their Roach counterparts . Twelve Hours ago, my patrol fleet came across a Roach survey group near the Outer Reaches. In accordance with Galactic protocol, we hailed their ship, informing their unpermitted access of Federation space. In response, we had been fired upon, and received grievous damage to our ships' systems. Due to the nature of peacekeeping ships, we had only been equipped with double light lasers, intended for ship to ship combat, but increasingly we are forced to come into contact with larger and more capable designs that we are ultimately powerless against. Tarlos, remind the council of what happened when the Federation's 3rd Fleet made contact with Roach destroyers, we are losing this cold war against the Roaches and the bureaucrats in Atlantis are refusing to act.
After Action Report XX/XX/XXXX:

- -Federation cruisers are vastly underprepared for more than anti-smuggling operations

ROACH TECHNOLOGICAL REPORT[]
Federation Conclusions From Post-Schism Procurements
Dr. Jaden Striggin, Head Scientist of the Federation

The Federation Scientific Body concluded that, without a shadow of a doubt, Roaches are the most technologically advanced species in the galaxy. Among other findings , below are listed a number of creations that have warranted this designation and how they were acquired.

ADVANCED LASER BATTERIES[]
Roaches have proven to be proficient laser technicians and possess much more powerful laser technology than any other known species, however many turrets and batteries have proven impossible to dissect, but possible application onto retrofitted Federation battlecruisers may prove fruitful, though the immense amount of energy output per blast may prove to be more than problematic for most ships , as massive vents and supercoolers must be fitted to properly disperse the heat created. Roach ships contain a strange, molassis-like liquid that possesses the ability to disperse heat exponentially more than Federation cooling liquid. The source of the coolant is apparently secreted from Roaches as a perspirant, which makes extraction extremely difficult, as the volume of Roaches required to create higher volumes of liquid numbers in the millions

IMPOSSIBLY LARGE SHIPS[]
While a city-ship has never been successfully recovered, an estimated eleven ships were in Roach obssession before the Great Schism, and at least three have been spotted on the outskirts of Federation reach. These impressive battlecruisers, worthy of their own class , are nineteen kilometres in length, and packed to the brim with thousands of ultra-heavy and point-defense laser systems as well as the capacity to store an invasion force for a planet, estimated to be several dozens of thousands strong. Federation fleets have rarely survived encounters with these beasts, and most information about them is gathered from Roach admirality that found their way to allied space. All Captive roaches have given more or less the same information, with the exception of Grand Admiral Throach, who went on record to say that Roachard Nixon went out of his way to develop larger and larger ships, spending 20% of the Roach GDP on research and development for these ships alone.

PLANET DESTROYERS AND OTHER SUPERWEAPONS[]
According to Federation operative "Foreigner," the Roaches had crafted a superweapon capable of destroying a planet, and that he and two more had been beamed directly into the ship across the galaxy in but a few moments. The home planet of the centipedal race, Cartars, had been reduced to debris , and this was confirmed by the Federation's 888th Recon Fleet "Tirentus." These findings indicate that the Roaches have access to FTL technology far more capable than any recorded species, and are capable of and willing to destroy opposing planets at will. While the "Death Roach," as the battle station was called, was recovered in the western expanse, its superweapon was missing, and only this 3d model reconstructed from blueprints could be cobbled together.

FEDERATION INQUIRY INTO RUMOURS OF ROACH AMBITION[]
EFFECTIVE ON XX/XX/XXXX, ALL CAPTURED ROACHES ARE TO BE TAKEN TO CARTOS FOR TRIALS, ALL DIRECT QUESTIONING OF ROACHES IS HALTED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
Dabert Jax, Project Lead of Operation Crossfire-Orange For the rather short duration that the Federation was in contact with the Roaches, rumours perpetuated on both sides about their capabilites and potential, it is the purpose of this inquiry to determine whether or not a lead is to be taken seriously, and below are given a select few rumours that have been, or are being investigated.
RUMOR 1: ROACHES ARE CAPABLE OF EXTRAGALACTIC OR INTERDIMENSIONAL TRAVEL[]
While faster than light travel is intrinsically linked to interdimensional travel, it only really allows for the use of accelerated travel via use of the Horpsan principle, not allowing for much travel outside of a precalculatd route, and even then the dimension itself is more or less our reality with some minor bumps, not able to be visited unless if going at faster than light speeds. The rumor here is that Roach vessels are capable of entering other dimensions , ergo popular fiction's version, dimensions that any user may reside in, but exist on another plane of reality from our own. This rum our, started not long after Roachard Nixon's death, stemmed from an unusual encounter on Earth, specifically in a bar located deep within a "New York," in a district named "Brick Town," which is relevant as many sightings outside of the Outer Reaches, including sightings of Roach presidents, have been reported in this district. After placement of an operative, callsign "Foreigner," many rumours that had come to our attention had been either discredited or proven.
According to reports from the operative on Earth and a variety of eyewitness reports, the Roaches dispatched a group of mercenaries to the bar owned by a consort of the murderer of President Nixon. They apparently were not successful, as medical records show the use of rubber bullets was extensive, but there were no fatal injuries sustained. According to some sources, two unusual suit-clad men known as members of the "Committee" came to the bar to sort things out. The rumor states that the two men were extradimensional travelers of an organization that controls a great many things outside of normal spacetime, the apparent proof of these claims comes from evesdropped conversations between the two, and a dialogue between one of the members and the owner of the bar, however. This rumour appeared to be nothing more than just that, a rumour, for quite a length of time, that was until video evidence appeared, and on that night, two figures could be seen actively distorting the area around them while on camera, similar to how a magnet affects screens. By the night's end, both figures exited the bar via an unkown method of space manipulation similar to an FTL engine, though not powered from any ship, rather, from some kind of device on their persons. An investigation was launched not long after this discovery, but nothing was found outside of unusually large quantities of sulfur in spots the men had travelled, which had remained there and were unable to be removed by any methods. After the property was sold and the owner moved location, the old "Golden Gator" bar was placed under indefinate quarantine , and is being used as a staging ground for a variety of anti-Roach insurgency operations, as well as a monitoring site for an unusual parasitic fungus which had been found in the sewers after searching the bathrooms for DNA evidence. Sigh tings of extradimensional beings number less than a dozen in the past century, so much scrutiny is required before verification meaning that this rumour turned theory is plausible for the time being.
RUMOR 2: ROACHES ORIGINATE FROM OUTSIDE OUR GALAXY[]
Stemming from the idea that this race is capable of extragalactic , or even intergalactic flight, some have speculated that Roaches are a galaxy faring race that have come to colonize our galaxy. This theory is widely supported by the lack of Roach presence in the galaxy previous to the year XXXX, though it is more popularly believed they resided in the Western Expanse long before their entrance onto the main galactic stage.
RUMOR 3: ROACHARD NIXON IS NOT DEAD[]
This theory is backed by the lack of evidence surrounding Nixon's death, despite eyewitness recollection, there was no corpse found . Not long after Nixon's death, an AI deep within the Alpha Site near Vegas was discovered to have ties with the Roaches and assumed persona of the dead leader, possessing an unusual well of knowledge surrounding many Roach assets. Due to Federation inability to tamper with most Roach systems without purging usable data, the Nixon supercomputer still remains active, however any and all communications in and out of the facility have been blocked by the addition of a five centimeter thick foil wrapping around the facility, ensuring both EMP protection, and blocking of all radiowaves. The AI claims to support democratic ideals, believing in an "honest republic" being the ideal form of governance. Iconography of the presiding nation the AI was found in has also been found, most noticeably large banners of the "United States of America." The percentile to which the AI is lying cannot be determined, though most tend to agree it is either lying constantly when not referring to base deployments , or is truly in favor of the ideals it spouts. For clarity's sake, the real Roachard Nixon was one of a long line of presidential dictators that ruled the Roach Nation for apparent millenia, serving consecutively for at least a quarter millenium. Other than this oddity, there is no evidence to support the Roach is still alive.
RUMOR 4: ROACHES ARE ARTIFICIAL[]
See issue 2.
RUMORS: A GHOST FLEET OF ROACHES ROAMS THE WESTERN EXPANSE[]
The theory states that the missing superlaser from the 'Death Roach' is being used to great effect in anti-federation activities across the Western Expanse, though apparent sightings are low quality, and difficult to determine. Most likely this rumour arose from pre existing tales of woe surrounding the region, given its unstable and infrequent nebulae movement and raider attacks, though since it is around where the Roaches first surfaced, it is not entirely unlikely for remnant forces to emerge, as for reports of a superweapon obliterating ships no larger than a corvette for no tactical reason? Unlikely, nonetheless there are already regular Federation patrols in the sector.

KNOWN HISTORY OF THE ROACH EMPIRE[]
A Broadened View of All Information Compiled From Roaches and Their Encounters
Heoth Rex, CEO of the Federation Historical Society[]
The rather uncouth Roach species has been is still rather baffling in terms of the inner workings of their society, but, in tandem with satellite, military, and linguistic observations, the Federation Historical Society has created a clear timeline of events to inform citizens and personnel alike who they're facing in this increasingly turbulent galaxy.
Pre-Incursion[]
Information gathered from the few officers of the Empire who have agreed to be taken captive has revealed what Roach life was before pertruding from the Western Expanses. According to Grand Admiral Throach, and other high ranking officers, Roach society was structured around the pursuit of technological and societal advancement, and decisions were always made to benefit society first , the individual second. For about a millenia, Roachard Nixon had been the paragon of the "Roaches For a Better Tomorrow Initiative," which was a political party with the purpose of remaking Roach society from its simplistic, mechanical nature, into a nation of people who could provide assistance to society at large , but also to give meaning into individual Roaches. The campaign worked, and Nixon would reign as Secretary of the Interior for about 250 years, after which he would run for president and would serve in that position until his death approximately 250 years later. During his rule , Roach society was transformed from timid slavery to the state , to being a system wherein the people could provide for the state, and the state would reward them in full. For example, the construction of facilities to better understand the universe, and pushing for social progress from its stagnant position. In the course of 300 years, the Roaches had become master shipwrights , exploring systems far and wide for scientific and cultural advancement.
The Roach-Centipidal Wars[]
After a perios of about two centuries of unbrittled peace and prosperity, increasing attacks on Roach trade from a race of Centipidals, who believed the systems the Roaches possessed belonged to them , would tip Roach society into a mad frenzy of extreme devotion to the state, and to their leader, Nixon, who proudly lead the Roach Nation into the future, by funneling most of the national budget into starships capable of reducing any Centipidal fleet to ash. The project would see initial success, but the first round of ships were unable to leave the dockyards due to a blockade on fuel imports. The Centipidals then attacked Roach Prime, the only known name for their homeworld, in a preemptive strike to destroy Roach military capabilities. After this moment, fanaticism for the ideals of vengeance for the attacks boiled over, and Roach society had reversed itself, no longer at all focused with the individual, except for the leader, rather, it had become a massive military industrial complex which would swell to immense size within a century. The Centipidals eventually had their society reduced to rubble, after continuous slagging from Roach cruisers, and the remaining Centipidals on their homeworld had been rendered sterile from generations of radiation exposure. The Roaches would occupy the world for 30 years before leaving, returning only to destroy it centuries later.
Post Incursion[]
The Roaches would enter the main galactic stage around XXXX, and would, within few months, conquer and destroy a noticeable portion of galactic tie s. Based almost entirely in sectors outside of the Federation's reach and possessing massive and powerful arms capable of rendering our fleets inoperable, a peace deal was forced onto the Federation after two months of campaigns by the Roaches. The Federation and the Roaches remained more or less at peace until the fall of the Empire.
Nixon's Demise and Political Fallout[]
Nixon, for reasons unknown, ventured to Earth with a skeleton fleet to negotiate the creation of a Roach settlement on the planet, even offering the coveted coolant they produced called "Roach Nectar," though political relations would end in flames as Nixon was brutally stomped to death by an unknown-to-us assailant. After the nation mourned hi s loss for weeks, the faction began to break under its own administrative pressure. Without Nixon as the figurehead and administrative body of the nation, support began to wane for the existence of such a vast nation, and several splinter factions would arise in its ashes.
The most prominent two factions to form in the decline of the Roaches were the Roach Empire, responsible for the creation of the planet-destroying superweapon the "Death Roach" and the successor state to the Roach Nation which bared its namesake and iconography, though struggled for its existence to maintain legitimacy. These were not the only factions, notably the Plucar Alignment is being left out of the picture here, but these two faction stood out of dozens as they each greatly impacted the galaxy.
The Roach Empire would lead the Roaches down a path of continued warfare, with military campaigns faltering when overwhelming force was not implemented due to a lack of competent officers, and aging ships with little resources to fix them. They would be legally dissolved after the second battle of Roax's End in XXXX.
The Roach Nation would maintain itself as a confederacy of systems held together under the command of Grand Admiral Throach, who endured the compliance of every system. They have maintained peaceful, though tense , relations with the Federation, but have agreed to give us insight on their culture, history, and some technology. They are currently an observer state in the Federation, but do not seem interested in integration.
