What is The Legend of Roflgator?

The Legend of Roflgator is a homebrew game created by Roflgator using the game engine/toolkit RPGMaker. As such it features a typical classic Japanese RPG game style similar to the Final Fantasy series.

Roflgator worked on the game before he started playing VRChat or even dated Ikumi. Judging from the timestamps in the game files the game was approximately completed/abandoned in 2014-2015 but not released until 2018 when it was shared on Roflgators Discord.

On April 4th, 2019 Roflgator began working on the sequel Legend of Roflgator 2 that would include characters from the Gator RP Group. As of 2020 and not much work spent on it, the game is doubtful if it will ever be completed.

The original download via Mega.nz was lost in 2021 but a backup mirror uploaded by Cragsand.^[1]

Trivia

The game was never actually completed.
Not to be confused with Legends of Roflgator documenting the roleplaying story arcs taking place in VRChat with the same name.
The game uses many default assets from RPGMaker.
According to Roflgator some of the music that Poke made for the game was intentionally composed to sound bad and annoying.
There are some characters in the game who share names of friends from Roflgators real life.
The game contains several inside jokes.
