Jonas Aarthwan is a newly appointed Captain of the Guards, and Professor at Ascension Academy. They first appeared partway into year 3, just after Spirit Week when the Academy returned from Cari Town.

Upon arriving and introducing himself, Captain Jonas stated that in addition to his duties as Guard Captain, he would also be teaching runecrafting during the school year. As Captain, all of the guards on the campus report to him, and he oversees their operations.

- Jonas is from a place called Tellusward, which is close to Saigon. He and his wife live there.
- When Lila Fang expressed her excitement to see another werekin, Captain Jonas said that was part of the reason he requested to be stationed at the academy. He thought that more representation for their kind would be a good thing.
