History and Biography[]
Life Before VR Chat[]
Before joining VRChat, Ir8pirate led an adventurous life, traveling with a carnival, working as a truck driver, and spending time sailing and motorcycling. His love for thrill and exploration was evident even before he discovered the VR space.
First Steps Into VR Chat[]
While working as a satellite installer specializing in business communications, Ir8pirate was introduced to VRChat. Although he played intermittently, he recalls the early days of VRChat, including preloaded games and learning the basics of VR controls. His first encounter with VR began with Vader Immortal on the Quest 1, which led him to explore VRChat.
During his first weekend in VRChat, Ir8pirate was upstairs on a flat floor while testing out one of the earliest avatar worlds. Immersed in learning to navigate with a joystick, he encountered a virtual step and, momentarily forgetting he was in VR, nearly stumbled in real life. This experience solidified his fascination with VR and its immersive possibilities.
