Introduction[]

The Inquisition is an organization that resides in Abagua and Innistrad, and their objective is to fight non-humans. They usually see inhumans below and treat them as such.

Beliefs[]

The Inquisition champions the cause of Zarunism, a very human-centric religion that has been in practice for a very long time. Zarunists dwell across the world in small numbers, though are most prominent in Abagua, Innistrad, and the United Sanctuary. None are more extreme in their beliefs and actions than the Inquisition however.

Lore[]

During the Fantasy era the Inquisition was contacted by Lorn Barnes to destroy the corrupted city of Camelot after it became a treat to the World with the undead forces of Morgana Le Fey, after losing a lot of soldiers there the Inquisition alongside Lorn Barnes defeated the Le Fey forces leaving what we know know as the Dead Marsh where the battle took place.

History[]

We first saw the in the Academy where the Inquisitor Maria Hopkins she says that because the donation of some lands by prince Ali in the 99th Hart Ball she will escort them there but because the ships is blessed some students should stay in the prison hold.

We learned during the Return to Duat mission that the Prince's absence has lead to the appointment of High Inquisitor Marius as Lord Regent until the Prince returns. The Cadets also learned from a bandit that allegedly the Inquisition has been hiring up many bandits and mercenary bands in the region, preparing to overthrow the Prince entirely.

The Inquisition made an effort to recruit Joseph during the mission, questioning him about the Academy and the Forty Thieves. They seem to believe the Cadets have contacted the Thieves but lack proof. Late into the mission, they did eventually identify the Forty Thieves' Den but due to a tip-off, the Thieves escaped ahead of the raid by just hours.

Trivia[]

  • In Abagua they didn't notice that Ryder and Victor were non humans.
  • The Inquisition possesses several artifacts that they collect from the ruins around the Duat Desert. One of these was actually reclaimed by the Academy and CAF but due to its location on Inquisition lands the CAF was forced to hand the object- a Frost Staff- over.
  • The High Inquisitors claims their faith, Zarunism, is based around the 'Red Order', but few details have been revealed to elaborate on this. It is very safe to assume human supremacy and the moral inadequacies of "Demihumans", near-human races, are core beliefs of theirs however.
