Soralyr Grimguard is a member of Team Lumen at the Rosewood Institution.
The word 'Sora' derives from ancient Drozan translation "Sky" or "Winter Moon"; the addition of 'lyr' also comes from a Drozan translation, "Silver" or "Argent Silver".
Backstory and Spoilers[]
Soralyr Grimguard hails from a tribe in Northern Droza, a narrow-minded society where magical abilities are viewed with fear as a curse bestowed upon them by Gaia herself. Her people are made up of proud warriors and anyone who held the ability of magic kept it a secret or faced the consequences of execution or exile. Able to bend ice to her will, she grew up dreading discovery and being forced out of her tribe, leading her to keep her magic abilities a secret for the rest of her life, hiding it from the knowledge of even her closest relatives and warband. She would never practice her curse out of fear of these facts, and would grow to resent the magic within herself as she grew older.
Soralyr was 16 years old when she revealed her abilities to her mother outside of her own volition. Her secret, of course, was met with dread and disturbance, and it was only after her reveal that she would learn the fate of all those before her, and where her magic came from. Soralyr was Frostborn, just like her grandfather, a member of the warrior caste, and gifted with an bloodline connection to the magic of her lands, and the rare ability to wield the power of icy magic, and something her parents were hoping would be absent from her genes.
It wasn't long before she would be exposed among her tribe as a stain and with her people's new belief of her tainted blood, Soralyr was exiled to freeze in the northern part of Droza, where brutal tribal raids and inter-clan warfare are as much a part of the landscape as the scream of the frozen winds, and the unyielding cold of the tundra.
Soralyr and Magic[]
Though it might not be noticeable on surface level (mostly due to her fiercely keeping this as much a secret as possible), Soralyr has an intricate fear of magic. She herself wields the affinity for ice/frost related magic, but has never used/activated it on purpose as her tribe banned the use of magic due to their beliefs that it corrupts the mind and makes the users mad with power. This rule was engraved into her being from the very moment she was given life and has since been traumatized out of using or interacting with magic. Seeing others use magic and interacting with magic (portals, classes, etc) will make her uneasy, though it wont be noticeable unless someone is observant or gets to know her quite well.
Soralyrs Warband[]
Soralyr was an only child, but was placed in a warband of 5 as an infant, something tradition for her tribe. hey were all very close, spending every day with one another, playing or training, practicing as a warband. They knew one another’s strengths and weaknesses. They knew every corner of every secret any of them had to offer. They were closer than her bloodkin, just as warbands were expected to be.

Trivia[]
- Soralyrs Shield is named Dakiyē while her Axe is named K’ura T’irī
- Soralyr was lucky to have both parental figures in her life. Her father taught her how to hunt and fish, as well as the basics of survival, while her mother taught diplomacies and how to fight.
- Soralyr was to be the next Warmother of her tribe, essentially making her a princess.
