Edgar Van Richten is Fallbrook's current surgeon and a half-blood vampire first seen during Ascension's diplomatic mission in Fallbrook. He is a member of the Black Rose and subordinate of the speaker of the council Godfrey.

Edgar previously was a human hunter that after losing in a fight against vampires he was spared and converted to a vampire. He doesn't remember much of his past, but he remembers that he was once married and probably had a child.
