The Camp Cari mission was the second official mission outside the Academy. This mission was given to the Academy by the New steward of Esperia so the academy could get a new Keystone.

December 3, 2019[]
North Outpost
The mission started with the students gathering in the camp and getting to know each of its parts, as they identify their surroundings the headmaster showed them the three different outpost on where they will be assigned to be on watch going by squads in each outpost and assigning a runner that will be keeping the outposts informed of the others situation.
Steward arrives
After the Steward arrives he explains the aftermath of the Esperia Mission and how his daughter is grateful to them. The Headmaster and the Steward informs them that the Crypt is mostly guarded by Skeletons, Zombies and some other undead and that they are some shard of a keystone and they will need to collect them all so they can use it effectively.
Crystal Thorn Crypt Run[]
Crystal Thorn Formation
Later on, Crystal Thorn departed as the first squad to raid the dungeon while the other students gather some lumber and other resources to supply the camp. They adopted a formation where Barthall the squad leaders acts as an scout due to his invisibility powers, Lila as a Shield, Shizuko and Stark behind Lila as swords and Pickwick with mid range and Rin with large range as wands.
As they got down after wiping out the skeletons at the main entrance they found a health potion, a mana option and the first key to open a door. going down they rain into to the catacombs finding a stamina potion. After getting all the pieces of the puzzle they went down to face the final boss and after a lot of effort and most of the squad getting seriously injured they managed to make the greater undead fall and get the shard alongside a scroll and a special sword that was in the Dryad possession.

After Crystal Thorn got back to the camp with the shard and the sword, the outpost suffered waves of attacks from skeletons similar to the ones in the dungeon and the Dryad infiltrated the camp letting the students know that if they didn't return the Sword the attacks will not cease. The Headmaster takes advantage that Vanguard was the next to go to the dungeon and orders them to return the sword as they search for the keystone shard.
Vanguard Crypt Run[]
Getting attacked
Teaming up with Rex because of their missing companion Vanguard enters the dungeon, they adopted a formation where Zack operates as a Scout and a Shield behind him were Ryder and Melanie as Swords, and then in the back it was Jixie with her magic rifle and Augusta with her Ice magic as Wands, and Rex giving support using his swords and defensive spells as a Rod. After being lured by the Dryad to the most dangerous places of the catacomb, Vanguard barely keeping formation went to the final boss but got stopped before entering by the Dryad, with this they returned the sword and went back to the camp with more exhaustion than injuries and Jixie getting a weird scroll despite all the chaos.
December 6, 2019[]
Pond Created!
With some students injured, Professor Vondanen explains about the different herb students can get in this territory like the Emberbulb a plant that is particularly know to survive wildfire. This plant needs to be prepared in a mix with cooled gloves because if it experiments a rise in temperature it loses its properties. Meanwhile Lila and Willow in a separated space start the *ritual of Lila transformation, the students begin the recollection of Emerbulb and the other supplies to construct a well. Later on they go hunting and after Bargus* kills a bears and multiple skeletons ambushes they procure enough food for the camp.
Ardent Veil Crypt Run[]

Finalizing the supplies gathering Ardent Veil goes to the Crypt and starts with a formation of Mason in the front as a Shield, Arbor and Jay behind him as swords, back is Hanah as a Wand/Sword and Cari as a Sword and last is Gavin functioning as a rear shield. Despite their great teamwork Ardent Veil saw themselves lacking in pure power wich caused some of ti members like Cari to suffer various heavy hit which resulted in really serious injuries later, but despise all of this they got the shard and returned at least in one piece to the camp.
In relation to the attacks on the crypt the Dryad sends his skeletons to raid the camp using the non reinforced parts of the outposts until they reached the center of the camp and burned the outpost, with much effort the students managed to defend against the skeletons and put the fire out.
Ignis Crypt Run[]
After the barrage of attacks and Chipz woken up, Ignis sets of to the Crypt with the only exception of Esmae. They start with a formation of Rook as a Shield and Wand, behind him Speca on riding Vev in the middle as a Wand/Rod and in their sides Victor and Chipz as Swords. Thanks to Rook strength keeping the shields up and Victor and Chipz speed keeping up with the front and back the squad made it to the boos room despite that they belated in the puzzle,
Shadow in the Limbo
but after defeating the boss and not finding a way out Chipz decides to jump into the bottomless pit where he found himself in a space where he was neither dead or alive in front of a person covered in shadows, this person told him that he will be returned if Ignis returned the shard, after they did Chipz got himself with his squad in the beginning of the dungeon where they returned with a sour taste of defeat.
December 8, 2019[]
Willow helping Augusta
After Steele healed some students in the med camp, the most injured ones keeps themselves in repose to get a full recovery of their injuries. The other students resume their watch at the outposts before the meeting is called. Meanwhile Lila Fang starts to familiarize herself with her werewolf form and Augusta with the help of Professor Willow manages to suppress herself so she wont attack her teammates, Victor infroms the headmaster about the shadow that appeared to exchange Chipz for the shard.
Briefing
The briefing starts and the Headmaster assigns the tasks to the students, they will need to build a farm, prison pit, pathways or a storehouse. Willow call everybody in the tent and shows them the content of the scroll that Jixie brought up, the contents where the following:
- Day 1:When they sent us out I never expected this, the material plan is strange compared to home but the council has spoken. We must go forth and do what must be done I just hope "He" will do his part I spoke with the council on my concerns about him and how young he is and how I fear he will not do what is needed but I suppose I shouldn't question their choice to much.
- Day 25:I have been feeling this strange pull towards this remote forest at a crossroads it's as if there is some natural thing here that will help me do what must be done.
- Day 46:I have found what has pulled me here and its a strange stone that emits powerful magic, I'm unsure how to use it other then letting it be, it seems to amplify the growth of my magic as well as the spread of magic.
- Day 102:Some of the locals near the crossroads are celebrating something when I want to investigate. I saw someone, a woman I think she saw me but I'm not quite sure.

Willow confirms them that the one from the scrolls was indeed a dryad, and that most likely the are near his groove and asks them that if they seem him they should try to talk to him to see what the dryad he will say.
Vanguard Crypt Rerun[]
Full Squad
With the same formation as before, Vanguard more prepared than before goes to retrieve the shard. Going through the crypt thanks to their previous visit Vanguard seemed more prepared but this time a new stronger undead/elemental appeared and kept the team from completing their job, after defeating it Vanguard and Ryder got into his demon form swiping through most of the skeletons as if they were mere flies but not even like this he could fight with the Dryad and after an exchange of strikes Ryder got impaled by the Dryad with the March of the Dead that make him go out of his demon for and be in an injured state.

After getting on the boss room they performed well but there was a mistake, when the other Vanguard members released the trap door Ryder fell with the boss into the bottomless pit leaving his members behind with worry of his whereabouts.
Ryder and the Shadow
Ryder in the same "Limbo" place that Chipz was face to face with the boss, exchanging hits Ryder decides transform to get the boss soul, meanwhile the shadows are convincing Vanguard to change their shard for Ryder life but they leave without exchanging the shard, after Ryder fails to get the boss soul the shadow tries to bewitch Ryder letting him know about the deal, but Vanguard decides to go back to get Ryder. The shadow returns a mad Ryder and they exchange the shard with Ryder, Ryder confronts them and tries to attack them but they manage to calm him leaving him with uncertainty of his own squad that he calls friends.
December 10, 2019[]
Stucents choosing squads to scout
After the day before events the students began to share information about their experiences in the Crypt alongside the enemies that they encountered but with the treat of the Cryptwalker doing weird things after knowing the name of some students they keep themselves wary of their environment.
Later on the Headmaster sends the students to investigate the outsides of the camp meanwhile the professors discuss the mission plan.
Students with Steve
The squad composed of Arbor, Victor, Ryder and Zackary found a church where Steve welcomes them and points them to a very particular boar that seems to have a pouch and a stamina potion but because of their past experiences they don't take the things and return back to the camp informing the other students about their discoveries.
After that a team composed by Ryder, Zack, Rex , Arbor and Victor went again to the church and after taking the pouch and the stamina potion Steve guides Ryder and Zack to a cave where a troll comes out to attack, with the help of Steve they seemed to have defeat it but the troll was just tricking them taking Steve off guard but after Ryder and Zack join the fight they defeat it easily.

Later on guided by the Cryptwalker some students go to the graveyard where some spirits come out, one of them seems to be grieving about someone the students offer to help it but without giving much information the spirit disappears.
After some more attacks and some trolls robbing people caravans the students end their most chill day that they had in this camp.
December 13, 2019[]
Plan to find the grove
After the encounter with the spirits the students get to rest in what it seems a really gloomy mood that assaults the camp in the last day.
The Headmaster gives the students a report of the founding of the students like a different variety of potions and reminding them about the camp name. He shows them the image of the Grove entrance and Willow reveals them that the Dryad is his brother,after a round of questions from the students to Willow Zackary remembers the spirit and asks if the Dryad was in love with someone at what Willow says yes and they connect the dots together.
Ignis founds the Grove
After they go into squads to try to find the Grove or the Cryptwalker and patrol at the same time, in their patrol Ignis founds Steve and casually they stumble into the grove that seems protected against visitor by a barrier o the other side the Cryptwalker guides Crystal Torn to the grove but suggest that they will need more people to face against this foe.
The students start preparing to raid the grove even with all the misinformation and assumptions that students have. Guided by the Cryptwalker all the students and teachers go to the grove to face against the corrupted Dryad, Willow gets confronted by the Dryad before the spirit asks the students to help the Dryad but after Stark does a failed sneak attack by orders of the dryad a swarm of skeletons swarms from the different portals of the grove to attack the students,
Spirit tells them how to liberate the Dryad
while defending the students and Willow found some puzzle pieces that they need to bring together and the spirit tells them that they need to purify the water so everything can work, Willow tasks Carver to do it and after seeing that Carver was lost the spirit guides him to the waterfall where he will have a very resilient fight against one of the darkness soldiers. Meanwhile the students found most of the puzzle pieces but the skeletons wont let them have an easy time and Ryder gets lured by the big monster that was at the end of the Crypt into a closed space so they can fight 1 vs. 1.
Cari brings back the Fey water
Now while Ascension academy was trying to decipher the puzzle the skeletons instead of attacking they take the puzzle pieces to interfere with them, meanwhile Ryder won against the boss and Willow cracked the puzzle ordering the students to cipher another portal, but Cari comes back with the mana water (Fey water) that her and Carver got and they put it in the mana water in the grove water and Willow does the spell to purify the grove, with this a barrier erected at the back of the groves goes down revealing a corrupted keystone shard. The students fight with all their wits to get the keystone to a more weakened skeletons and sneakily Stark grabs the shard.
Now with the shard Willow has to make the decision of giving him the keystone and try to help him or kill him and end it, Ryder tries to convince him to give up and give the sword, the Dryad getting his head more clear surrenders his sword but Stark with other plans in mind stabs the Dryad in his weakest moment giving him a lethal blow, the spirits begs them to save him in the time remaining claiming that their teacher knows how but the skeleton uncontrolled launch a last wave of attacks.
After this last wave Willow decides to use his life force with the keystone shard and the sword as a catalyst to heal him, Willow faints but the spell worked and now the Dryad life is not in danger and he returned to his original appearance thanking the students from saving him and after an incessant round of question by the students he goes to recuperate himself of the previous stab.

In the aftermath Cari seems really injured and Carver decides to take her to the lake to see if the water can help her stabilize but as she seems to really have lost a lot of blood they can't do make her breathe, they did CPR and Willow tried to heal her but all they efforts were lacking after she died in their hands by Hypovolemic shock due to heavy blood loss. The students and professors agreed to follow her culture burial rituals and get her body to the ocean by the lake and later use her bones to something useful leaving behind the loss of a great friend to the students and marking the first student death of the current term in Ascension Academy.
Overall Mission Results[]
- Dryad was lifted of it curse.
- Cari Cuddlefish died of a Hypovolemic shock due to mainly heavy blood loss and bad medical treatment after multiple attacks by the skeletons.
- One of the four Keystone shards recovered. One shard drained to save the Dryad. One shard exchanged for Chipz ' life. And one was exchanged for Ryder's life.
- New unknown enemy discovered by Carver when he got lured away in the last stand of the Dryad.
Trivia[]
- Chipz couldn't participate in most of the mission because he had do DM the event.
- Also only Chipz and Ryder fall to the hole during their respective dungeon run.
