"In the name of the Nosferit, the legions and the Dark Council, most powerful, to Chipz, the Ashen. Be it known that you are summoned unto the Culling, the Ancient trial of the Vampires. We command your presence at the Cliffs of Faust, to undergo preparation, effective immediately. A Fang has been sent to assure your arrival." ― Chipz' summons to the Culling via Blood Stone

What are Blood Stones?[]

Blood Stones are crystal-like stones used primarily by Vampires to communicate over large distances. There are two variants that have been seen in roleplay, though the second may just be an advancement of the magic that occured in the three hundred years after the first.

The older variant was a large elongated stone that glowed a faint red and had spiral runes carved into its surface. This version of a Blood Stone acted like a secure recording device. The message contained within was only audible to the intended recipient, and only when they drips their own blood onto it. Chipz and Victor each received one in the mail summoning them to the Culling.

The second variant is much smaller and more advanced seeming, and has appeared in both Ascension and the Present Day Metaverse. This version is more refined and resembles a faintly glowing red marble. When the user's blood is dripped onto it, anything they say will be heard by the creator of the stones. These can be used more like magical one way communicators, in real time. No need to pre-record a message and mail it physically. In Ascension, Victor gave one of these to a girl from Concordia, and in Present Day he gave one of these Stones each to Kuri and Saya, two of Ryder's children.

Trivia[]

  • Only a drop or two of blood is required to activate a Blood Stone.
  • A large red crystal corrupted by the Darkness was found in the Ashvar Mine under the Academy and was mistaken for a Blood Stone because of its color, but it was in fact not one.
