This article documents the explanations for how things work within the Ascension Academy RP setting, as vague as that sounds. This is not strictly limited to 'technology' given many devices that exist in the real world have in-RP analogs that operate using either magic, plants, or other means.

Photo Lens Foci[]
A Photo Lens Foci is a small wooden frame containing several runecrafted gems and sheets of glass, with an opening at one side into a tube with another lens of glass. This device, when channeled into, produces a flash of light that burns itself into special sheets of Photo Paper- square thick sheets with a black material on one side. These are the AA equivalent of old photo cameras, and are incredibly expensive and difficult to create and maintain. Because of this, they have only been seen a very small number of times.
It is believed the Cari Town News had one of these Foci. We have also seen one in the possession of the CAF, during the Finals Exam in Year 2. And finally, one was in the possession of the Silver Herald Newspaper in Fallbrook.

Water Dispensers[]
Water dispensers are dotted around the campus at Ascension Academy, primarily within the Student Dorms and the Teacher's Offices. A small amount of brown mold is kept within the dispenser to cool the water within the jug, separate from the water itself for sanitary reasons obviously but close enough to do the job.
Fridges and Freezers[]
Fridges and Freezers, much like the water dispensers, utilize brown mold to cool their contents. Presumably the more mold used the cooler the space, so the freezer would have more mold. Other things such as meat lockers, cold goods transportation, etc also all likely use brown mold given the ease of maintenance and accessibility.

Transport []
Mana Trains[]
References have been made by students at the Academy to trains powered in some fashion by mana. No other details really exist beyond this and that the mana is somehow supplied by the railcar behind the engine at the front of the train, possibly by burning some fuel or using Attunement Crystals like Esperian machines do.
Esperian Transport[]
Many creations from Esperia, including their Constructs, are very similar- not only in aesthetic but in power supply. In Year 1 at Ascension, a group of Constructs lead by 3MM4 came to the Academy in some strange 'tanks' or mounts. Metal creations with a seat and 4 legs, sitting a little higher off the ground than a cart would. Based on the crystals, which are similar to those on the Guard Constructs that came, they seem to be powered by mana using Attunement Crystals.
Trivia[]
- Much of the lore on this page is likely retroactive, coming about when people are asked in character how something works- usually as a joke pointing out the lack of electricity in the setting and said thing's existence despite this. It was probably not planned from the start.
- Most Esperian technology seems to use Attunement Crystals mined from the Ashvar Mine under Ascension Academy.
