Amelia al-Bashar is one of the students of Sjombal that Ascension Academy meets during the North Mission in year 3.
History[]
Amelia was born in Antioch, Abagua to Farah, a human woman, and Broki, a dwarf male.
Although Amelia’s father Broki had to be in hiding most of the time due to the inquisition, Amelia was young enough to pass as a human and could therefore walk around freely.
Amelia’s mother Farah was a part of the resistance in Antioch against the inquisition. She played an important role in it as an expert smuggler, shipping supplies and people back and forth between Antioch and Concordia (possibly under the 40 Thieves)
One day, Farah was found out by the inquisition, and Broki was killed. As a result, Farah used all her favors to ship Samira (8) and Amelia (4) to Concordia. However, she herself had to stay in Antioch, otherwise she would make her children into targets. Tearfully, she said goodbye to her children.
Once Amelia and Samira arrived in Concordia, they found themselves brought to an orphanage. Over the next 10 years, they would both steal, make deals, and swindle their way to success, even forming a small criminal street gang. Amelia’s size especially was useful for going from place to place unseen.
10 years after arriving in Concordia, their luck ran out. Samira and Amelia were caught by the city guard and were going to be sent to jail, but Amelia was able to create a distraction in order for Samira to escape from the city. They both promised each other that they would reunite one day.
Amelia would spend the next few months in prison before being visited by a captain of the CAF. Pulling some favors, this person took Amelia under their tutelage at Sjombal.

- Despite most female dwarves having beards, Amelia always shaves her beard due to it being itchy
- Amelia is in a relationship with Cameron Redstone
- Despite being half human, Amelia is short even by dwarf standards
