Alaira Darkhaven is one of the students of Sjornbal that Ascension Academy meets during the North Mission in year 3.

Alaira's mother, Morena, was the head of a witch's coven. Eventually, her coven was discovered, resulting in most members of her coven dying. Having no other choice, Morena fled all the way to Abagua.
During that time, Morena went into hiding due to the Inquisition forces in the region. During that time, she ended up finding a fellow witch, Lucian. They fell in love and had a daughter named Alaira.
Growing up, Morena and Lucian would teach Alaira bits and pieces of their culture to make sure she knew the basics to survive as a witch.
Ultimately, however, Morena and Lucian had decided to never tell Alaira that she was a witch in hopes of her living a life of freedom. Inspired by her mother, Alaira had wanted to learn more magic and ways to help the world. As a result, her parents had decided to enroll her in Sjornbal academy.
